Il Museo Mutante
Triennale Design Museum
The Museo Mutante is the first of three volumes dedicated to the Triennale Design Museum, able to continuously renovate itself and offer its visitors new and different looks, points of view and itineraries. Design is still very much a living discipline, its history yet to be written.
The volume, edited in 2017 by Electa Editori, is made up of 10 chapters which retrace the Triennale Design Museum’s exhibitions. In it, various curators, among which Alessandro Mendini, Germano Celant, and Silvana Annicchiarico have tried year after year to retell the history of Italian Design from various points of view.
Each chapter of the volume is marked by a colour, forming a true rainbow of stories that show ten different shades of the history of design. At the end of every chapter we find a selection of the exhibition works, ordered around individual criteria, i.e. chronological, thematic and alphabetical. The book’s cover was created in hardback form with UV printing, at the centre of which CamuffoLab recaptures the play of colours from the Italian Design rainbow.
